TekWiFi 1.1

Introduction

TekWiFi is a WiFi connection and diagnostic tool runs under Windows (XP, Vista, Windows 7, 2003-2008 Server). TekWiFi simplifies connection to the wireless network which PEAP authentication implemented.

Major Features

  • Lists available wireless networks.
  • Displays details for the connected wireless network; IP address assigned, default gateway and DNS servers.
  • Provides auto provisioning for PEAP authentication on client side.
  • Automatically detects if Hotspot login required.
  • Diagnoses connection problems by pinging, DNS servers, default gateway, hotspot and ISP homepage. Diagnostic results can be saved to a text file.
  • All parameters can be configured through management GUI.
System Requirements

  • A Windows system with at least 1024 MBytes of RAM.

  • Microsoft.NET Framework v2.0.50727 (Min.)

  • 2 MB of disk space for installation.

  • WiFi interface.

Installing and Uninstalling

No installation is required. Unzip TekWiFi.zip to a directory and run TekWifi.exe.

Running

TekWifi automatically selects WiFi interface.

  1. Run TekWiFi by double clicking TekWiFi.exe.

  2. Select wireless network to be connected and double click on it.

  3. Enter Key for the wireless network or configure parameters for PEAP authentication. Click Connect. Enter login credentials if needed (PEAP authentication). Click Diagnose for diagnostic functions.

  4. WiFi interface, ISP homepage and an Internet host can be set at Settings tab.

  5. You can remove cached credentials used in PEAP autentication through settings tab. Please see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823731/en-us for details.
